Join SoHo Playhouse and stars from global Fringe Festivals for a selection of the season’s best Fringe plays! Playing at SoHo Playhouse January and February 2025.

Annually, the International Fringe Encore Series provides opportunities to emerging artists who show exceptional talent at each season’s Fringe Festivals. In recognition of their excellence, SoHo Playhouse offers these special shows an extended run Off–Broadway in New York City. This opportunity gives these shows and artists a unique platform for future sucess. Many of the previous productions featured in the series have gone on to extensive Off-Broadway runs and gained international success, including Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette (Adelaide 2017), Sam Morrison’s Sugar Daddy (Edinburgh 2022), TONY Award winner Alex Edelman’s Just For Us (Edinburgh 2023), Drama Desk Nominee Krapp 39 (FringeNYC 2008), Jamaica Farewell (FringeNYC 2009), Triassic Parq (FringeNYC 2012), We Live By The Sea (Edinburgh 2016) and Drama Desk Nominee Rap Guide To Religion (Edinburgh Fringe 2015).

STORIES FROM INDIA by Taranjit Kaur, Simar Singh and Helly Shah

Three perceptive, articulate and emotionally literate human beings invite the audience to visit their country of India. Simple rhymes, well-executed builds in momentum, clear delivery, and amusing narrative asides leave the audience powerless to resist the charm, humanity and transformative effects of Taranjit Kaur, Simar Singh and Helly Shah’s storytelling.



My Mother’s Funeral: The show by Kelly Jones

Though she can’t quite bring herself to say it, Abigail’s mother has recently passed away. As her next-of-kin, she is faced with the huge financial burden of organising the funeral of her mother’s dreams, with nothing to pay for it. To raise the necessary funds, Abigail decides to propose a play mirroring her current situation. As the play comes to fruition, and Abigail loses control of the narrative, her goal travels further from her grasp.

Gwyneth goes skiing by awkward productions

She's the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-In-Loving, consciously-uncoupling Hollywood superstar. He's a retired optometrist from Utah. In 2016, they went skiing. A story of love, betrayal and skiing – where you are the jury.


FAMEHUNGRY by louise orwin

An audacious dive into the world of TikTok, offering a unique blend of live theatre and social media commentary. This performance art piece is an exploration of the absurdity and allure of TikTok, engaging both a live audience and, online, the platform’s users in a strange, often surreal experience.


The whisper of the waves by shinehouse theatre

Harnessing the power of human loneliness, the surreal and existential nature of saying goodbye, alongside the futility of endeavours in the face of mother nature—a humming tribute to the human spirit amidst the crashing flood of climate disaster. Performed by a formidable seven person ensemble over ninety minutes in a mix of tragi-comic clowning, emotive and introspective narrative storytelling, and side-swiping meta-theatre.

Everyone from savvy sauvignon swiggers to clueless chardonnay chuggers will find something to make their glass half-full, as the wine industry's hardest-hitting questions are answered… How far should I extend my pinky when sipping? What the heck is a tannin? And who’s parked in the loading bay -  you’re about to be towed?

He, the hater, will reveal himself without hesitation or shame, he will be stinging, he will shout his HATE to the four winds. But he will also have fun provoking us, he will challenge us not to be hypocrites and to bring out the racist that perhaps deep down is in each of us, even if well hidden.

Juliet: a revenge comedy by monster theatre

A fast-paced, action adventure comedy that follows Juliet on the literary adventure of the century. Juliet, played by Canadian Comedy Award nominee Pippa Mackie, refuses to die for someone she just met two days ago. She recruits a team of Shakespeare’s most famous female characters (all played by Carly Pokoradi) to find out why they’ve been forced to die! CAN THEY ALTER THEIR FATE?!
